Boracay 2013

This post was a bit late. It was my first anniversary trip to the beautiful island, Boracay. We took Tiger airway to Kalibo airport. The airport was really small, departing and arriving at the same place. After checking out, we took a bus to the jetty. The journey was around 2 hours. After which, the boat journey was around 10 minutes. Finally after so many transfer, we reach Boracay. We were planning for a 3 day and 2 night getaway at Mandala Spa and villa. The resort was very beautiful and the staffs were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast for served were fabulous. It was a nice place to stay if you are looking for a quiet place. It took around 10mins to walk to the bustling beach. The beach was very clear and it was a long and white sandy beach. There were a lot of people and activities going on the beach. Along the beach, you can see people advertising water activities, asking for tattooing and doing hair pleading. There were plenty of bar and restaurants so no worries on the variety of food to choose from. Overall, Boracay has an attractive beach, affordable food and many activities to participate. Highly recommend for honeymoon, couple getaway and group outing with friends. I love Boracay and perhaps go back again one day.
Enjoy the nice scenery I took during my trip.

Rider Cafe @ Bukit Timah

This post was also from last month. We had our post Xmas and new year celebration together due to our busy schedule. We went to one of the popular cafe, rider cafe,  in town. It was rather inaccessible by public transport and more convenient if you go there by car. Reservation is highly recommended if not you will be waiting at least an hour on a weekend. It was alfresco style dining. The whole ambience was great on a new year day. We were really excited looking at the menu. And we decided to order the short rib hash, salmon benedict (special during new year day), pacific benedict, the usual and portobello burger for our mains. As for dessert, we had the chocolate cake, lemon posset, scones and the caramel brioche. As for the drinks, mocha float, summer fizz, lime cooler and a hot pot of chamomile tea. The pacific benedict was really good as blue swimmer crab was used and the meat were really fresh and goes well with the bread. The mains were really good. Next, the caramel brioche and lemon posset was my favourite. I feel the chocolate syrup on the chocolate cake was too thick for me and I am not a scone person and luckily the comments on the scone was nothing fantastic. We were really full and we proceed to our gift exchange session and I received a black t-shirt. Nice. It was really a nice place for brunch and I will go back again.
Highly recommended.

Pappasan @ Dorsett Hotel

Last month, I bought a Groupon voucher for spanish food in Dorsett hotel. The place is called PappaSan. Interesting name right. The place was not crowded. We had some cold appetiser which was not bad. However, the seafood paella was rather disappointing. We did not manage to finish it. However, the fries and fried onion taste much better. Perhaps is due to the groupon voucher, the food served was nothing fantastic. There were some dishes on the menu which was rather tempting. Please go there for their ala carte if you want a less crowded place for dinner, otherwise do not buy their groupon voucher.

Schneeballen @ Takashimaya

This post is to introduce one of the German dessert selling at the basement of Takashimaya Shopping centre.  I was walking around to search for some special gift and chanced upon this snow ball liked food. There were a lot of flavours to choose from so I take one of the brochures and browse through it. I find the steps to eat the snow ball quite special and decided to get one to try it. After we break the snow ball, the biscuit inside was coated with chocolate and I love it. The snow ball was definitely good to share with people as it will be too much to finish alone. I will go back and try other flavour. Nice dessert.

Bear Paw burger @ Scape Orchard

There was a new eatery opened at Scape. It was the Bear paw burger. I saw this burger in Taiwan and they bring it in last year. I bought 2 coupon to get discount for the burger set. The burger was soft and the fried chicken in between the bun was flavourful. There have french fries and bottle drink to go as a set. A good combination. There were a few tables around the eatery so there are limited seats available. Take away will be highly recommend. Another interesting food outlet pop out in orchard area.

Chock full of beans @ Changi Village

Recently, there were a lot of cafes in Singapore. I am sure this is one of the best cafe, Chock full of beans, I had visited in the east area. It was located at a corner of block 4 at changi village. There were about ten tables indoor and outdoor. The main reason why I went there was their 3D latte art which fascinate me. It never disappoint me. It was really nice and you will feel happy seeing the 3D art while sipping the coffee. The beverage took about 30 minutes and it was worth the wait. The toasted mushroom was really good as an appetiser. The pasta and pizza were equally good. This cafe served good food and coffee. Highly recommended to go if you are staying in the east area and cafe lovers.
