Absinte @ Boat Quay

The much anticipated restaurant week during the last week of October saw me visited one of the best restaurant in town which is Absinte. The four course dinner look tempting so I make my reservation during the early bird period. Another reason being I had come across this place during my walk along Robertson Quay and it leave a good impression to me with the way the guests were treated. After arrived at the place, we walked a flight of stairs which was a bit tiring. Then, we were ushered to our table and started to make our choices. The appetizer was scallop with ponzu dressing, pear and pomegranate. The soup was lobster Bisque. The main was braised wagyu beef in red white wine and lastly early grey crume brulee as dessert. All the food taste excellent. YUMMY! The next restaurant week, I will book this place again.

Nakhon Kitchen @ Bedok

Today, I am going to recommend a Thai restaurant in the east side of Singapore. The name is called Nakhon kitchen. It is situated below HDB block. It is very popular and long queues were always spotted. There were approximately 10 to 15 tables and they do not take in reservation. In order to have the food, you need to be there early to avoid the long queue and cash payment only. This will be the brief introduction of the place. I was there on a weekday around 9plus. The store was actually closing so I was their last customer. After looking through the menu, I decided to order Phad Thai, seafood tom yum soup pandan chicken and deep fried honey chicken and Thai milk tea as my drink. The food was here pretty fast so I go for phad Thai as my first dish. Good! The Phad Thai was nice. recommend to try. The Tom yum soup was a little spicy for me ( my level of spiciness was limited) but shiok. The deep fried honey chicken was decent as well except for the pandan chicken which was a bit disappointing. Maybe is near to closing, the chicken taste not that good. I will give them a second chance if I visit them again. I have a feeling I was at Bangkok after drinking the thai milk tea. Lastly, I want to say is it is a very authentic thai restaurant and one of the best around.

Canton Paradise @ AMK Hub

Canton paradise is one of the restaurant under the paradise group. They had good service and good food. They also introduced membership and rebates which attract customer to re-visit them. I can say they had established quite well in singapore. I have been there for a couple of times, for lunch and dinner. Now, let me introduce some of my favourite dish in the restaurant.
1) They have this must order item in the menu, crispy BBQ pork bun. It is crispy on the outside and the char siew filling inside was equally good. Highly Recommend!
2) The fried rice and yi fu mee was also to my liking. The portion can served around 2-3 person.
3) The sweet and sour deep fried cod fish was special. Small like a dice and the sweet and sour taste was just right.
4) The char siew meat and roast meat mix combination was also my favourite.
5) The salted egg yolk prawn taste good too. I guess anything paired with salted egg yolk taste yummy.
6) Their menu also served variety of dim sum such as fried carrot cake, chee cheong fun and many more.
Patronise them if you are one of the member, if not become their member so you can earn rebates and at the same time enjoy the yummy food.

Ng Ah Sio Bak Ku Teh

One of the restaurant under the Jumbo Group, the famous bak ku teh place. There were many items on the menu and different price for different type of pork rib for bak ku teh. We ordered 2 bowl of bak ku teh, salted vegetables and the big intestine. Overall, I feel that the soup is a little bit over spicy. Other than that, it was a nice dinner. Another place for teochew style bak ku teh.

Tampopo Deli @ Liang Court

Recently, I went to Liang court and I found out that Tampopo deli had shifted from basement 1 to level 1. It had changed name as well. The new name was Delcet and studio. They still continue to sell their popular cup cake at $2. There were nice pudding, cakes and dine in option. I bought a few pudding and some puff home. The pastry was still as good. If you walk past liang court and craving for some sweet stuff, this is the place you cannot be missed.

Arteastiq @ mandarin gallery

One of the popular place for brunch in town, Arteastiq. I bought a voucher from Groupon and it was expiring before I called and make a reservation. Although I have been to mandarin gallery a couple of times but I never went up to level 4 before. When I reach the place, I had a nice feeling about the deco of the restaurant. There were colourful seats near to the window and there were cushion seats at the opposite side.  we choose to sit away from the window and decided on the food to order. I had the first blush (fifth picture) and first eunuch (fourth picture) as a set and my wife ordered the ante meridien (sixth picture) and lychee tea (fourth picture). I had one of the best tea in my life, the first eunuch is really good. It was a oolong tea with  ice cream. The combination was awesome. Highly recommended to try. As for the food, it was also good. I like the smoked salmon together with the fluffy pancakes. The pan fried salmon was well cooked and go along well with the potato. The lychee infused tea was excellent as well. I will definitely go back to try other food on the menu. If you love to do some drawing, they do offer option at the other side of the restaurant.

Antoinette

Recently, I had bought 2 birthday cakes and a few macarons from Antoinette. I had always wanted to try their macarons so finally my dreams came true. The macarons melt in my mouth and taste really great. A little bit pricey but worth it. Next come the strawberry short cake and the antoinette. I prefer the Antoinette more than the strawberry short cake. The chocolate infused with earl grey cookie base combination was perfect. I can say it is one of the best cake I had. As for the strawberry short cake, the taste was decent and no special about it. I also tried the smaller version of the chloe cake. It contain yuzu and chocolate mousse. Special taste too. I will go back to try other cakes and macarons and maybe their brunch. A good place for afternoon tea as well.
