A new shopping centre, named Hill view 2, situated near Bukit Gombak has a lot of new eatery which I have not tried before. One of it is Kinsa Sushi. It was a hype in social media about the wagyu don so I decided to go there. We reached there around 6 and there were only a few table occupied. We were sat near the window. After 10 mins of browsing through the menu, we ordered Wagyu don, dragon roll sushi, 2 handroll (soft shell crab and negitoro), seafood udon and grilled squid. The service was prompt and attentive. Here come the wagyu don: nice poached egg with medium rare wagyu beef. It was heavenly and the meat was very tender and I believe I can go for second serving. The grilled squid and dragon roll were also worth mentioning. Overall, the food was not bad. After our dinner, queues were spotted as the place is not big so do arrive early. By the way, there is a shuttle bus moving between bukit Gombak mrt station and hillview 2 around 40 mins interval.

L'Eclair by Sarah Michelle @ Singapore Shopping Centre
Recently, there is eclair fever in Singapore and this shop which situated at Singapore shopping centre opened less than a few months but it has attracted a lot of people flocking down just for their beautiful crafted eclairs. They actually started off having some pop up concept in some of the local cafes before opening their own shop. They only sell eclairs, chicken pie and quiche. They do have coffee and tea to go along with the sweet eclairs. Promotion going for tea set which consists of All-day Weekday Tea Set for 2 ($40 nett) includes 1 savoury quiche/pie with salad, 3 eclairs and 2 drinks of your choice. I happened to pass by a few days back although I longed to visit since its opening. I ordered six eclairs (earl grey, vanilla and cameralised pecan, mango and passionfruit, dark chocolate and cocoa streusel, Ispahan and Matcha) to takeaway. The eclairs were very beautiful made and just so tempting. One word to describe: Heavenly. The flavours of each eclairs was well balanced and not too sweet. I will definitely go back to try other flavours and something to note: Some of the flavours are not here to stay so grab it before it is gone and you have to wait for a few months before they launch the flavours again.
Beauty in a pot @ One KM Mall
A new concept restaurant by paradise group, Beauty in a pot, opened at One KM mall. It served ala carte hot pot. Note: Please make reservation before visiting as you can expect to wait for hours. I once tried go at 1230am and the staff told me to wait for one hour, so reservation is strongly recommended. We ordered the beauty collagen broth so there are red date, enoki mushroom and wolfsberry in the soup. Quite flavourful. The items ordered were assorted dumpling platter, assorted balls platter, black fungus, US kurobuta pork and sliced pork belly, US angus prime short ribs, their signature fish tofu and baby spinach. The dishes were very fresh and it goes well with the soup. I totally indulge in it. Condiments were charged at $2.50 per pax. At the end of the meal, a sour plum juice was served and it is going at $1.90 per pax. If you are an owl, there are late night dining having a 20% discount. It opened until 3am. Overall, the service was excellent and the price is comparable to the usual ala carte hotpot. Another place for nice hotpot!
