Tsukada Nojo Bijin Nabe (美人锅) @ Plaza Singapura (new wing)

A new japanese restaurant, Tsukada Nojo Bijin Nabe (美人锅), recently come to Singapore and now it has 3 outlet in singapore. ( Westgate, Plaza Singapura and Chinatown point) I have walked past this restaurant several times, wanting to try their signature collagen soup, but always a lot of people. The video outside which introduce their signature collagen soup attract a lot of attention from passer-by. Finally, I tried it last month with my bunch of ex colleague cum good friends. The signature collagen soup come with a set for 2 which include some vegetables, prawns, meat paste and noodles. We also ordered additional side dishes, fried chicken wing and a rice wrapped with pork and cheese. The rice wrap was very good and I highly recommend it. The pot of collagen look so much like 豆花. Soon after, it started to melt and we get to try the collagen soup first before we start to put the food into the pot. The soup was very flavourful and I feel the whole pot was very healthy and tasty. The outlet at PS was not very big so you need to be there early if not very fast, it will be fully seated and you might need to wait for at least one hour or more. Please go and try the signature collagen soup and you will love it.

Oushin Steakhouse @ suntec city

I visited the newly renovated Suntec city and there were some new restaurant popping out. I chanced upon this new steakhouse restaurant at level 2 and decided to try out. The ambience was good. I went on a weekday so there were not much people. The table setting and the decoration of the restaurant was awesome. I ordered a bowl of soup, 2 main courses and 1 plate of mashed potato. The food were really good especially the steak, and worth the value. It is definitely a great place for steak. If you visit Suntec and have some budget for your meal, do visit the Oushin steakhouse.

Tian Yi Steamboat @ Tiong Bahru

Finally, we visited this Tian Yi steamboat at Tiong Bahru. We walked past a few times and we decided to try their steamboat. It is situated at a corner and along Seng Poh Road. It opened until 11pm and the price is around 20 bucks for buffet. There is buffet and ala carte but it will be more worth it if you choose the buffet. There are more than 50 items on the menu. We ordered a yuan yang pot consist of satay and fish head soup base. we ordered beef, pork, chicken, fish fillet, enoki mushroom, prawns, different kind of balls, black fungus, fish paste and vegetables. There are only 3 to 4 service crew and they are from china. Their service were very prompt and their food were fresh. Their chilli were fantastic. Perhaps toward closing, there will be items that will run out. Overall, it is quite a good place to have steamboat at night for such price.

Aquamarine @ Mandarin Oriental Hotel

Last month, I had a dinner buffet at Aquamarine last month. It was one of my company dinner so is free and is my first time there. Haha. To my surprise, it was a halal restaurant. There were quite a number of station ranging from seafood on the rock, which include king crab claw, fresh oysters, cooked prawns (big and small), scallops and mussels, fresh salmon sashimi and tuna, grilled station, indian, chinese and muslim food, different nationality speciality food and desserts which consists of nonya kueh, egg tarts, cakes, ice cream and durian puree. The seafood were very fresh and the sweet juice from the succulent crab and the prawns. I had 2 to 3 share on the seafood alone. Another worth mentioning will be their grilled station and curry. The desserts were quite typical except for the durian puree which had a bit of wow factor. The ambience and service were good. Give it a try if there are discount for certain credit cards.

K attack III @ Esplanade

To all Kpop lovers, this show might be suitable for you. It is actually a chinese orchestra band performing different korean pop song recomposed by the conductor and team. My first time for K attack III. I did not went for K attack 1 and 2. The price is not expensive, approximately less than 15 bucks. The whole musical concert lasted 2 hours. The band is from Nanyang Polytechnic and they have been performing this since 2011. I am so lucky to attend this concert and much thanks to Jieying who introduced me this show and at the same time brought me into Kpop a few years back. Thanks Jieying! During the show, apart from enjoying the music, we were busy guessing the title of the song by listening to the rhythm, beat and tune. Truly magnificent great show. There will be K attack 4 coming this year.
Give it a try for Kpop fans out there and you will definitely love the experience in the theatre.

海底捞 hotpot @ Clarke quay

I finally get to try one of the popular steamboat in town, 海底捞. Advanced booking is highly recommended. Otherwise, you will be waiting outside for quite some time. For ladies, there is option for a free manicure. It is a free service from the steamboat restaurant. For us, we did make reservation so upon reaching, we were ushered to our tables. I am quite impressed with their service. We were using Ipad to order our food, ziplock bag for our handphone (to prevent stain) and apron during the dinner ( to prevent spills). The service crew were very patient to introduce their popular soup base and ala carte items on the Ipad. Finally, we decided on a 鸳鸯锅, chicken and  tomato. Some of the items that we ordered: One basket of mixed vegetables and mushroom, chicken, pork slice, a freshly cut red tilapia fish, assortment of fresh meat paste and the most popular items, their house noodles. First time while having hot pot, a 拉面师父 will perform a the noodle right in front of you. Quite interesting and indeed very skillful. There is also another section, which include free flow of fruits and some pudding for desserts. Another hot pot place into my list. Good service with nice food and I like the soup base too. I will visit this place again. Please go support!
