Don Q Bread from Takashimaya Basement

Last sunday, after my gym session, I went to Takashimaya to do some windown shopping and hunt for food. After I walked till the end, I saw this new Japanese bread shop. They were selling exquisite bread and pricey too. I decided to give it a try. I bought 5 breads, each costing around $2. The first bread was good with sugary taste and soft texture. Second one was normal but the third one is not to my liking. The apple cinnamon bread is for my mummy. Overall, 2 out of 3 to my liking. Will try more breads from there.
Bought some macarons from Canele after passing by and they had new flavours too. I love macarons!

Rice dumplings festival

Last saturday, it was rice dumplings festival. Many restaurants or hotels were selling different kind of dumplings with mark up price. Although I would like to try some from hotels, due to my hectic schedule, my craving for dumplings only allow me to buy from eastern dumplings inside cold storage only. Introduce another bubble tea called share tea. Their signature drink, yam milk tea with pudding.

Fika Cafe @ Millenia walk

Another farewell dinner for the second time in a week. This time round, we went to a Swedish restaurant, Fika cafe, in millenia walk. Maybe to many people, the only contact with swedish food is at ikea, swedish meatball and some starters. To me, having a authentic foreign restaurant in Singapore is always very welcome. The restaurant is spacious and bright. We started browsing through the menu and there were so many interesting dishes. I feel like trying everything as if it can be a buffet. We had some non-alcoholic soft drinks from Sweden. Some foods to recommend: The crepes with smoked salmon (super soft crepes and fresh salmon), swedish meatball with mashed potato, cheese potato, italian pasta and meat platter. Overall, the food is tasty and recommended but a bit pricey. I will go back again to try their crepes and tried their dessert for sure.

must try!

better than ikea :)

Twelve cupcakes

Nowadays, cupcakes are everywhere in Singapore. In order to be outstanding, the uniqueness and creativity of the cupcakes is important and not forgetting the taste. The cupcakes I am recommending is 12 cupcakes which are opened by Jamie Teo and Daniel Ong. I have longed to try the cupcakes already and finally I went to the outlet at united square. To my surprise, after I bought the cupcakes, I saw the celebrity couple. So coincidental. In total, I bought 8 flavours. There were chocolate and chocolate, red velvet, cookies and cream, PB chocolate, mocha, PB jelly and passion fruit. I like the cupcakes as they were moist and yummy. There are still a couple more flavour to try if I buy again.

Marmalade pantry @ Ion Orc

Last Monday, we went for a farewell dinner at marmalade pantry in Ion orchard. I had been in my new company close to a year, sad to say that 11 of my colleagues had left the company. The turnover rate is so high. Factors that will affect a person to leave for a new job: Working environment, salary, management, amount of work and etc. Let not talk about work!
11 of us ordered 11 main course plus desserts. Some of the main course was average, I will highlight the nicer one. First will be the salmon with cold soba. It is a special combination, and the salmon was cooked just perfectly, crispy on the outside and juicy when bite. The crab meat linguine and carbonara spaghetti were nice as well. As for the desserts, we ordered a few cupcakes to try and a special pudding with caramelized pear on the inside. I will recommend people to give a try for their desserts during afternoon tea time or after dinner. Good ambience and good service.

Brozeit@ Vivocity

This is the third or fourth time I have been to Brozeit. There are a total of 3 outlet in singapore mainly located in town. The place is always a nice and good place to chill out after work, or watching soccer during BPL season. Last Wednesday after work, there was a gathering at Brozeit (suggested by Meiyi) for my ex-starhub colleague super belated birthday (for alvina). Reservation is recommended otherwise chances of queuing outside is pretty high. We ordered the famous pork knuckle, 2 beers, sausages and white asparagus soup. It was a full and sinful dinner. I need to point out that the pork knuckle together with the beer is very nice. Had a enjoyable chat with them and let's wish both of them success in whatever they do. Cheers!
