Last month, I visited the marriott cafe for high tea buffet. There were promotion of 1 for 1 for DBS card holder. So my department took half day leave and brought us here for a team building event. The salmon and prawn were good and but not the mussels. Not fresh. The sandwiches were equally good, as well as nugget and char siew su. Overall, the choices were limited and the food served was of average standard based on the price we pay. I will give them another chance next time.

Egg and Berries @ changi city point
Having a good brunch during weekend is very enjoyable. To pamper yourself occasionally will brighten your day up. On that particular weekend where there was IT show at expo, I went to Egg and berries at changi city point. There was a short queue but we waited around 15 minutes before the table were available again. We ordered one set each plus a smoothie. My set consist of a grilled chicken on top of rosti, one poached egg (I love the poached egg, taste excellent), 3 fluffy pancakes and banana smoothie. BB June ordered french toast, scrambled egg, sausages and bacons, 2 pancakes and blueberry smoothie. Something interesting about the way to eat the pancake. There were 3 bottle of sauces for the pancakes, maple syrup, chocolate and berries. Overall the food was good. Will visit again.

alfresco Gusto @ Ion Orchard
My second visit to alfresco gusto in less than 2 months thanks to groupon offer again. I ordered 1 appetiser, 2 mains and 3 scoops of ice cream and 2 drinks. The drinks as usual were special and nice. I went for sauteed mushroom with some cheesy bread. It was good as well. Next, pasta with prawn and crab meat risotto were fantastic. Lastly, the 3 scoop of ice cream were normal. It was a really good lunch. I hope for more groupon voucher so I can go back again to try other dishes. Something worth mentioning would be the service standard of the crew were consistently good.
Imperial treasure steamboat @ triple one somerset
This is my second time to Imperial treasure steamboat. It is located at triple one somerset opposite somerset mrt station. It was a birthday celebration so I suggested to revisit again. Overall, I am very delighted after the meal. The service of the crew were excellent and they were very attentive. Before the soup came, there were a lot of ingredients (in the first picture. is chargeable) for you to create your own sauce. Finally our soup arrived, we choose the drunken chicken soup. Honestly, the soup were superb. Taste were excellent. The meat, prawn, mushroom and vegetables were fresh and go really well with the soup. I will recommend for steamboat however is a little pricey.

Ju Shin Jung @ Joo Chiat
Last month, I went to a korean restaurant at Joo chiat area for an ala-carte dinner buffet. It was another farewell dinner for my colleague. My first time to Ju shin Jung restaurant. There were a lot of photo pasted on the glass of the restaurant. From this, I guess that a lot of korean star visited this place so I will have some expectation. As we were eating buffet, the menu were quite simple. A few kind of meat (chicken, pork and beef)plus all the side dishes to choose from. There were around 10 side dishes to choose from and each of us can order a soup (one time order only). The side dish is refillable. Overall, some of the side dish is really good but not all. The choice of meat was limited but there were prawn which is a plus point. The meat and seafood were fresh. The chicken and beef was good. It was a very very full dinner. After eating, I believe the smell of the bbq will linger on your body as there were no exhaust. Other than this, it was quite a good experience dining there. I will go back again as I love Korean BBQ.

Jumbo seafood @ riverside point
My second visit to Jumbo Seafood. I ordered the famous chilli crab with 8 fried buns to go along and one side dish, tofu with mushroom. It was my birthday month so I received a complimentary cake as I am their member. The chilli crab was really good. It was not really hot only a little bit of spicy. The fried bun really goes well with the chilli gravy. Taste good. This is definitely going to be one of my favourite restaurant when I love to have crab. Give it a try for their crab if you had not. You will not regret.
Bak ku teh @ Jalan Kayu
Bak Ku teh is always one of my favourite food. After I knew that there was one shop along the Jalan Kayu road, was waiting to go and try it one day. The car park were limited so I suggest parked at the public car park and walked over. The name of the shop is Nee Soon Huat bak ku teh. All the service crew were ex-convict so you can see tattoo all over their body but they are very friendly and attentive. Recommended must try: Tow ki (second picture on the right). soft and crispy. very nice. The Bak ku teh soup was herbal style with wolf berry and some herb. They also have a special dish which is the dried bak ku teh, soup separated from the meat, different way of enjoying the food. Overall, the food here was fantastic. If you are a fan of Bak ku teh, this can be one of the shop to try.
