Afternoon tea @ Rendezvous hotel

Last saturday, I went for a high tea at rendezvous hotel with June BB as I bought 2 set of afternoon tea voucher through online. The seat was very comfortable but the place is not fully air-conditioned. I feel a bit warm as I am sitting nearer to the exit. The set consists of 3-tiered pastry and sandwiches and a cup of tea. I ordered a chamomile flavour for the tea while waiting for my pastry to come. After waiting for roughly 15 minutes, 2 set of 3 tiered pastry was placed infront of me waiting for my brain to give command to start. Cakes and tarts were on the first tiered, sandwiches were and the second and lastly was pastry.  The food and the service was acceptable. Give it a try if you looking for afternoon tea around that area.  

Pin Si @ AMK Hub

There was a considerably new chinese restaurant in AMK Hub. We went for a dinner and tried several  dishes, quite similar to zi char in coffee shop.  There were the prawn roll, french beans with minced meat, sweet and sour fish, stir-fried mee and braised meat bun. The food and service was good. A new dining option in AMK hub for chinese food lovers.

Epicurious @ Robertson Quay

After the run, we went for a breakfast at robertson quay. It was Epicurious. Ever since walking past the place, it was in my food list to go there to try on their breakfast menu. So decided to give myself a chance to try their breakfast after the run to pamper myself for accomplishing a considerably long distance. There was indoor and outdoor dining. We choose the outdoor sitting. After looking through the menu, decided to try their egg benedict and brioche. I was so happy after indulging myself with the food. Definitely worth the trip down. I will come back for more as there were a number of variety of breakfast.

Cheesecake Cafe @ Siglap

Another cake shop which I love to visit is the cheesecake cafe. I had been there umpteen times and always impressed with their cheesecakes. They do sell non cheesecakes such as tiramisu and etc. If you first step into the cafe, you will find the decoration of the cafe is very Greek style. A lot of status were hanging on the wall or on the side of the table. I ordered their oreo cheesecake, mango cheesecake and tiramisu. I almost manage to finish the 3 slices at one go, so sinful. Haha. The shop had a rules as in if you dine in, you must order at least one item. Enjoy the cake while imagining you are at Greece worshipping the god.

Cake Glace @ Icon Village

This cake shop is located at Tanjong Pagar Icon Village. They sell very nice pastries and well known for ice cheese tarts. Recently, I bought 2 whole cakes from the shop. Something worth mentioning, they do the cake within an hour after I placed the order. Impressive. I ordered a fruit cake and a green tea tiramisu. 

Both cakes are nice. The cake is very spongy and the fruits is sweet and fresh. The fresh cream is sweet, not too over. The price is a bit high but is worth it. Give it a try and impressed your loved one with the pastries.

Siglap Fu Lin Yong Tau foo

I am recommending this Yong Tau Foo shop, Fu Lin, in Siglap area. I had been there a couple of times already since June BB brought me there. This is a no pork no lard place. The ingredients were freshly made and the noodle is very special. I had brought some of my colleague to this place before and everyone were singing praise after eating it. Give it a try if you happen to be nearby Siglap. Maybe you will be hooked.    

Yoshimaru Ramen @ Holland Village

I tried a ramen shop at holland village. It was called Yoshimaru ramen bar. The place was not very big and long queue was spotted during dinner period. I ordered their traditional ramen with a char siew rice bowl. The noodle was very nice as well as the soup. Their egg was also well made. Yummy. The rice bowl was equally as good. It took me awhile to finish everything that was served. Great. Remember to visit this ramen shop if you are hanging around holland village. Definitely will not disappoint except the long queue and waiting time. Enjoy!

Otto Locanda @ maxwell chamber

A special occasion so I decided to go to a place which I never been before, the maxwell chambers at Tanjong Pagar. Actually, we wanted to visit another italian restaurant, but I suppose it had closed down and replaced by this restaurant which I am going to recommend later. The new restaurant is Otto Locanda. The decoration of the place having a cosy feel and the service of the staff were excellent. On that evening, we were early so just the 2 of us as if I had booked the whole place, haha. 

We ordered one speciality of the restaurant which look like wraps, 2 mains and 1 dessert. As usual, bread with olive oil to start with. Next, the wraps were good. The ingredients inside the wrap consists of smoked salmon and cheese. Thumb up! The mains I had was equally as good. There were potato gnocchi with crab meat with very special sauce. I love it. BB june had a Fettuccine and a tart for the evening. 

A marvellous dinner for this special day. Great! Recommend to go and try their foods.

Nando @ Plaza Singapura

I visited Nando last week for dinner at Plaza Singapura. Nando is famous for its grilled chicken. I ordered a very special dish, hanging grilled chicken skewers with 2 sides. BB June ordered a 1/4 grilled chicken with 2 sides. You still can choose the level of spicyness of the grilled chicken. Something worth mentioning about their side was their  garlic bread is very nice. The bread is soft with a light garlic smell. The other side, which was spinach was not very impressive, not the same as what I thought it will turn out to be. Overall, the chicken were good. If you are a fans of chicken, visit nando and you will be impressed by their way of marination and the way how the chicken was cooked.

Ireland Potato

I visited this new shop in Bugis+ a weeks back as it had been advertising on magazines a couple of times. It caught my attention as I love potatoes. There were around 10 flavours of french fries and chicken wings in the shop. I ordered only sour cream and honey mustard flavours. The french fries were very well made and the sauce go very well with the fries. I will go back for more flavour and other sides.

moon cake festival

Here are some of the mooncake I ate for this year festival. Home favourite and Grand Hyatt hotel. Actually wanted to buy the mooncake from peony jade but sold out. Anyway, on that special day, had some durian mooncake and went downstair to play candle and lantern with Giant lim.
