Dim sum buffet @ wan hao (Marriott hotel)

Had a birthday celebration at Marriott hotel (Wan hao chinese restaurant) for a dim sum buffet. There is 2 seating for this as well, 1100 to 1315 and 1315 to 1530. I like the ambience of the restaurant, very nice and grand. The service crew were quite prompt in serving our tea. They serve a wide range of dim sum, roasted meat and excellent signature dishes. Can give it a try if you like to dine in a good ambience for dim sum!

Switch @ Bras Basah

Music is always so important in part of our lives so this place will definitely suit a lot of people who love music. It is named switch located at bras basah circle line station. It is below the NTUC income union building just in case you are going there for the first time. It is the same concept as timbre except here there is a combination of chinese and english song sang by different live band groups performing on that particular night. It is a wonderful night with the companion of june and ex colleague friends: Jieying, Si ying, ligin, Si jia, daniel cheng kun and charlene. The food there is still as good like the roasted duck pizza, chicken wing and beers. Is definitely a good chill out place for many!

My little spanish place @ Bukit Timah

Restaurant week is back again. My love for Spain has triggered me to learn Spanish, my dream to travel to Spain and to try Spanish food for the first time. So this time round, I choose Spanish food. The restaurant, My little Spanish place, is located at bukit timah (near to coronation plaza). It is a small place at most can accommodate up to around 40 people. As for the menu, it is fixed except for the mains (paella choices between seafood or seafood/chicken). In additional, I ordered a Sangria and a glass of white wine for June.
The Starters consist of some Tapas: potato omelette (I like), pork skewers, forest mushroom with bread and   a kind of fish with bread. We choose seafood/chicken paella as our mains. It is a bit salty however the seafood was fresh and it taste great. The Sangria was good to go with the food. Lastly, the dessert is a home-made almond ice cream with meringue. The ice cream is good but I not a fan of meringue so I give it to June. I  will definitely be interested to try other Spanish food in the future.

Delicious cake @ scott square

This is a new cake shop located at the basement of scott square. It is called Delicious cake. This place not only serves cake, it also serves some main like pasta or some western. We ordered 3 cakes to share, chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream, carrot cake and macadamia cheesecake. Overall, the cakes are considered good. Can consider this place for a afternoon tea session if you are nearby orchard road.

Red Star dim sum (Chin Swee road)

Two weeks ago, met up with friends (ex-colleague) to red star dim sum for a rare breakfast. My second time there. It is located at chin swee road, level 7. It was always fully packed with people so you need to come early to avoid queuing for too long. The dim sum is inside this traditional push cart where the auntie will push the cart around and you can see what you want and order from her. Each push cart has its own variety, so there will be surprise when you wait for the next one while eating your food. It serves a lot of variety of dim sum: Har gow, siew mai, char siew bun, century egg porridge, prawn dumplings, paper wrapped with chicken, egg tart, carrot cake, pork rib, chicken feet, mix roast selection, liu sha bao and many more. One of my favourites in dim sum is always char siew bun. The carrot cake, prawn dumpling and the paper wrapped with chicken taste great. This place remain favourite for many people where traditional push cart style dim sum is concerned. I recommend people to go and give it a try and probably you will love it and start to go around looking for your favourite dim sum on the push cart.
