cake literally

This cake shop, Cake literally, has been on my list for quite awhile. I visited the place only knowing it is going to be closed. I felt I need to visit this cake shop before it closed. I bought 5 slices of cakes and 1 salted caramel chocolate tart. The chocolate flourless valrhona was absolutely good. Another  2 cakes worth mentioning were carrot cake and orange almond. The french earl grey cheesecake and amarula liquor were quite average to me. As for the tart, is quite well done and the chocolate is rich. Thumb up. It is a pity that it had closed down but it can still order from their facebook page for whole cakes. Hope that they can find a place soon.

Fremantle Seafood market @ clarke quay

My second visit to Fremantle Seafood market saw me tried some new dishes from the menu. I tried the fish and chips again. The new dishes were mussels in white wine, poached egg with sauteed mushroom and frolic ( 4 NZ oysters, 3 kind of sashimi and lobster cocktail, scallop and baby octopus) To be honest, I do not fancy the sauteed mushroom with poached egg. As for the rest, I enjoyed it. Definitely worth every cents for fresh seafood.

Nam Nam Noodle Bar @ Raffles Place Shopping Centre

Do you know Pho is pronounce as "fur"? It is a Vietnamese type of thin clear noodles. I am going to recommend this popular Vietnamese Nam Nam noodle bar and I am sure a lot of Singaporean must have visited already. Currently, there are four outlets in town. The operating hours is from morning as early as 8am till night time 930pm. There will be long queue during lunch hours or dinner time. The turnover rate of the diners is also pretty high. People eat and leave and it look like a fast food outlet to me. I been there twice at raffles shopping centre and suntec city. I love their way of ordering using pencil and paper after you have decided before proceed to the counter. The sandwiches are really good. please order and share with your friends. As for the hot noodles, there are a lot of spring onion, onion on the soup which I like. The noodles is cooked to perfection. You can try their beef combination noodle soup which I feel is great and another is their Vietnamese spring roll which is great too. Love their ice coffee too. I will visit again to try other food on the menu. More and more Vietnamese style restaurant booming in Singapore but this is definitely one of the best around.

Nara Thai @ Westgate

This is the best Thailand restaurant in year 2013. It opened its first outlet at ION last year Spetember and second outlet at Westgate on this year April. I had been there 3 times this year all at Westgate outlet. I can say I am falling in love with the food. and quite sure this is definitely one of the best Thai restaurant in Singapore. I had tried many of the dishes and the price is a bit expensive but the taste of the food is worth every penny. Here are the list of dishes I had tried so far: 1) Tom Yum Kung- The soup is not that spicy but the sourness is just right. (must order) although the serving is a bit small and enough for 3 or 4. 2) pandan chicken- normal, nothing special. 3) soft shell crab in curry sauce- the curry sauce is not so spicy and it goes really well with rice and the soft shell crab is deep fried till crispy. Very special dish. 4) crab meat omelette- super nice must order also. 5) steamed fish- fresh and the sauce goes really well with rice. fish lover must order this steamed fish to give it a try. 6) deep fried minced prawn pancake- nice appetisers must dip the sauce and it is very crispy. 7) Phad thai- good for non spicy lover. 8) tom yum noodle with prawns- it is actually tom yum soup with noodles. If you want to try tom yum soup, order this will be the same as well. 9) Spicy Kang kung- normal and nice. 10) fried taro and tofu- another special snacks before dinner, goes well with the sauce and I like this also. 11) fried fish cakes- normal and good. 12) Thai lime with grass jelly- refreshing drink and special also. can order. I will recommend to go to Nara Thai as they offer excellent service and fantastic food.

Miam Miam @ Bugis Junction

A new cafe in Singapore, Miam Miam. By the name of it, "Miam Miam = Yum Yum " in french. There are 2 outlets currently in town, Bugis and Westgate. It is popular among the teen and young adults as long queues were spotted during dinner hours. I have been there once at each outlets. I will recommend some of the foods that I had tried during my visits. Firstly, the french toast is a must order as it is stated in the menu also. I will recommend to share the french toast as you need to save some spaces for other food. The riz noir which is the squid ink rice cover with scrambled egg is good and the souffle de nuage is very special and the waiting time for this is abit long. It look like souffle on the outside but inside is curry rice. Next, the lobster bisque spaghetti and the miam miam signature spaghetti were among the best in the menu we feel. We never tried their pancakes and souffles so no comment. I recommend to try it during weekend tea time as no need to queue for seats and I will go back and try their desserts soon.

Alkaff Mansion @ Telok Blangah

During the last restaurant week, we went to Alkaff Mansion for lunch. The restaurant is inside Telok Blangah hill. The place is not easily accessible. Upon reaching, we were welcomed by the service crew. They were very friendly and showed us to our seats. This is a fine dining restaurant. The appetiser was the salad and bread with olive oil, followed by our mains: ravioli and snapper and lastly tiramisu. The service was excellent and the food were really tasty. I will recommend to come back to try their sunday brunch and the ala carte menu here.

Tulip Mania @ Garden by the Bay

A new tourist attraction in Singapore from last year. My first time to Garden by the bay. It was the tulip mania so I decided to bring my mummy and BB June to enjoy the vibrant colour of the tulips. There were many people around as well as the ticketing counter. After we get the tickets, we went to the flower dome where the tulips were. The moment I step inside, wow strong air con blowing at me, so cooling. I love this place. There were lot of different type of plants around, example: different type of cactus and plants from different countries. The tulips were very beautiful so please enjoy the photos when you scroll down. Next, the man-made cloud forest were amazing. I was thinking to myself how to make such a nice water fall and rain forest in Singapore. Brilliant idea. *Claps* I did not have the chance to try the sky walk as it was closed perhaps next visit. This tourist attraction is worth the price and is really a eye opener to many people. 

Visit the place if there is any special exhibition.
