Hong Kong And Macau 2014

This post was my Hong Kong and Macau trip earlier this year. My aim of this trip is to enjoy myself and eat a lot of recommended food in Hong Kong and Macau. It was a midnight flight by scoot to Hong Kong. Relaxed myself in the check in area using the leg massager. After 4 hours, we reached HK. The weather was very cooling. Shiok! We had our early breakfast at Maxim after checking out. We took the airport express shuttle to Tsim Sha Tsui to board the turbo jet to Macau. Our first stop was to our hotel, Grand Lisboa Hotel. It was really one of the comfortable hotel I ever stayed. The necessities were branded and there were 3 tv, 2 in the toilet. When you shit can watch tv also. Haha. A 5 or maybe 6 star hotel.
After which, we set off to our eating trail:
1)  誠昌飯店 Address: 澳门氹仔舊城區官也街28-30號  Opening hours: 12 noon - 12 midnight
Famous for the crab porridge. Board a shuttle bus from galaxy macau and you will reach the place within walking distance. ( The crab porridge was indeed fantastic no wonder so many people patronise the shop. worth trying)
2) 大利來記咖啡室 Largo Governador Tamagnini Barbosa, Taipa, Macau. Open :6:30am – 6pm
Famous for Pork Bun. Nice and recommended.
3)  新好利美食餅店 氹仔舊城區地堡街13-14號  Operating Hours: 07:00-18:00 daily
Famous for bird nest tart and milk tart and portugese egg tart. The egg tart was very nice even though we bring back to our hotel. The crust and the pudding part was made to perfection. Must try!
4) Gelatina at Mok Yee kei
Famous for durian ice cream and pudding. I feel the ice cream is average.
5) 安德魯餅店 Lord Stow’s Bakery Shop 2119A, 3/F, The Grand Canal Shoppes, The Venetian Macao Resort Hotel
Famous for Portuguese egg tart and cheesecakes. The egg tart was also worth trying.
6) (義順牛奶公司) The Venetian Macao Resort Hotel at the food court.
Famous for their milk based puddings and desserts.
We also went to a Portuguese restaurant called A Lorcha (Boathouse) for our dinner. It was near to Ah ma temple and we took a bus there. We ordered one pot of Portuguese style seafood rice, white wine clam and Portuguese cod fish. The food was pretty good and the crew were very helpful and nice.
At night, Macau is very beautiful. Different hotel with colourful lighting lit up the dark sky. Whenever you come to Macau, try their Portuguese food, egg tart, visit casinos and some famous sight-seeing places, bring back some local souvenir from Ko kei bakery shop. Scroll down for more.

Galaxy Macau

Galaxy macau shuttle bus will stop somewhere here and you just walk inside and you will be full after walking out.

After a 2 day 1 night at Macau, we moved on to Hong Kong where there will be more nice food. We stayed at Royal Plaza Hotel which was located near to Mongkok East MTR or you can choose to walk to Mongkok MTR for only 5 minutes. Another plus point: there is a shopping centre inside the hotel so it is very convenient. On that very night when we reached HK, we went to Sai Kung to have some seafood feast. Take train to rainbow station and follow the sign and you will reach a bus stop to take a mini bus to the end of the terminal. We dine at Tung Kee seafood. We ordered a set: Lobster Yee mee with cream sauce, 2 abalone, bamboo clam and 瀨尿蝦. Very satisfying seafood dinner. On the way back hotel, we take away dessert and drinks from 许留山. A perfect night. The next morning, we continue our food trails. We went to red star restaurant which located at the sixth floor of the shopping centre within the hotel. There were a lot of people waiting for their queue number. At the other side was another dim sum restaurant called 翠圆. After waiting for at least half an hour, finally our number was being called. They served us the tea and appetisers. The appetiser was really nice, deep fried silver fish with peanut. We ordered fried char siew bun, siew mai, chicken claw, century egg porridge, har gow, liu sha bun and xiao long bao. I can only say the dim sum at HK was fantastic. Remember to have dim sum during weekday at non peak hours if you can, it will be cheaper. We had the famous 波蘿油 and egg tart for teatime at Mongkok area. (金华冰厅). must try if is your first time to HK. Went to stanley market for a walk after which went central to Tai Ping koon restaurant. (http://www.taipingkoon.com/ehis.html ) There are a few outlets in HK. We tried their famous gigantic souffle (HK 138) and swiss chicken wings (HK 160). The chicken wings were flavourful and perfectly grilled. As for the souffle, I am kind of disappointed with the taste but to see such a big souffle is my first time. After dinner, we went Lan kwai fong and the longest escalator for a walk. We take away roasted goose drumstick (HK 135) from Yung Kee Restaurant 鏞記酒家. It was expensive but it was worth it. The drum stick with tender meat and juice coming out from each bite, is so tasty I wish more. The next day, we went to sham shui po to try Lau sum kee noodle. We tried the prawn roe noodle with wanton. I can say I fall in love with their wanton. Big and fresh prawn. The noodle was springy. Then, we went causeway bay and saw HK star, Chen Hao doing some promotion for ferrero rocher. This trip I tried a few macaron from different shop. Is tea time and we stopped at chee kee 池記. We tried their ginger barley drink, garlic chicken wing and beef tendon noodle. All the dishes were nice and the drink was very special. There had many outlets in HK. Next, I arrived at Ho Hung kee 何洪記粥麺專家. This is a Michelin one star restaurant. I ordered a pig liver porridge and prawn chee cheong fun. Nice. we went to Honolulu restaurant for our dinner. We ordered the famous egg tart, bo lou bun and HK style ice milk tea.
Next day, we went to Australian dairy company (rest on thurs) for our breakfast. Their scrambled egg was really good and I take away a scrambled egg sandwiches to satisfy my cravings. We went to queue for Jenny bakery cookies. It took us around 3 hours to get hold of the cookies. It is a craze in HK right now. After which, we went to Lam Fong Yuen cafe for lunch around tsim sha tsui area. We ordered the famous milk tea and a pork cutlet bun. The drink was to my liking. Next, we went on to have clay pot rice for our dinner at temple street at one of the shop and have pork liver and meatball porridge at 生记粥面. The pork liver was fantastic, cooked to perfection just nice.
On the very last day, we had the Mak noodle. Wanton noodle and beef tendon noodle. As usual, the wanton was my favourite and the beef tendon was soft and tender. Lastly, we had our dim sum at 翠圆 before we went to airport. They had the best lotus leaf rice I had tried before. It was a wonderful trip yet again to HK. The shopping experience (Bathing ape, adidas shoe, yam cake and etc) and the nice food we had for our whole trip was really worth well. I will try to visit HK at least once in 2 years.
I love 香港 and Macau
