Royal caribbean cruise (Legend of the seas)

Last month, I went to royal Caribbean cruise (3 night cruise to penang and malacca) Indeed, I am quite impressed with the service of the crew and it make me feel warmth during the whole trip. Upon reaching harbour front, if you have luggage to check in, you may do so at the check in baggage counter but it will take around 2 to 3 hours before it reach your room. After checking in, you can embark onto the ship for a buffet lunch. You can choose to check in early to avoid the crowd but you still need to wait till 1pm before the room is ready. There are a whole list of facilities and activities (rock climbing) in the ship and two restaurants awaiting for us. The room is considerably spacious for 2 but the toilet is very small. Everyone on-board the ship is issued with a room card (name stated on it), it is used for paying any fees incurred on-board the ship such as alcoholic drinks or shopping expenses. End of the cruise, you can choose either payment by cash or credit card. Now let me introduce to some of the nice food I had during the cruise and some photo to share during the whole trip.

My cocktail, frozen mojito! nice and refreshing!
During our day 1 dinner at this formal restaurant, we had this chicken with mushroom. It is worth mentioning as the chicken is tender and the mushroom taste great
This beef is just perfect, medium rare, really good (day 1 dinner indeed  impressive)
However, I dislike my dessert. (below picture)

Every night, there are lot of activities such as magic shows or karaoke singing or disco theme. If you still feel bored, there is a small casino which you can try your luck.
Some interesting things to share: you will find this on the back of the room. How it works: Every night you can ordered breakfast via the menu and hang it on the door knot not later by 3am. This breakfast room service will deliver it to your room on the stipulated timing which you had indicated earlier on the menu. We tried once and it is quite punctual.

Our fruits
During day 2 lunch, the forest mushroom soup is excellent.
There is a salad bar counter and there are a lot of ingredients to add to make the salad  look appetising.

Teriyaki chicken with rice
Nice dessert, orange flavoured panna cotta
Chendol at penang (famous) However, not very impressive!
Long queue spotted
Location of the chendol
A nice muffin before the start of dinner
Escargots baked with cheese (yummy!)
Not as impressive compared to the first night.

Nice dessert souffle
strawberry cheesecake
Sun rise captured during the cruise
A rainbow after raining, nice view!

My sunny side up for breakfast (favourite)
queue spotted for chicken rice (malacca)
We went to a chendol shop in malacca, much nicer compared to the penang one and the crowd in the shop is always over-whelming

Conclusion: Please visit royal Caribbean cruise if you can, you will not be disappointed. I will try Voyagers of the sea (Another bigger ship) next time.

Udder Ice cream

This post I am going to introduce one of my favourite ice cream stall in Singapore, Udders Ice cream. I won a voucher for participating in some quiz in my office, so I take this opportunity to buy a pint home for my family to try the Durian Mao Shan Wang ice cream. Everyone give a thumb up after eating it. I had tried many flavour in the stalls and to me it is always a good place to hang out with friends after dinner or during a hot sunny afternoon. All the best to Udders and hope there will be new creation soon.

Bedok 85 food market

I believe Bedok 85 market is not a stranger to a lot of people in singapore and people living in the east side. It has a lot of stalls selling yummy food such as char kway teow, sting ray, bak chor mee and porridge. However, they will be closing down for some renovation works for around 8 months. So before they close down the week before, I went there again to satisfy my cravings. I love their porridge (85 chai chee porridge), always so smooth with fresh ingredients. Next is their bbq chicken wing, texture and taste of the chicken wing is very nice too. Their famous Bak chor mee is also one of my favourite and lastly the bbq stingray (sometimegood, sometime ok) followed by one big cup of sugar cane. So full! Other stalls which sell oyster egg, hokkien mee, char kway teow, carrot cake, western food and wu xiang is also popular to many people. We definitely miss it but no worries. There is a temporary market behind so I believe some of the stalls will be shift over there to continue their business.
